Ginny figured being a 21st century woman, stuck in the past, playing other people's lives would be fun. It turns out, it's just work.

Her new persona, Bethany, is a society daughter whose only purpose is to make an excellent marriage, while playing by a long list of rules. When her parents bring her to a house party so she can meet eligible bachelors, Bethany has her hands full.
Will she choose the staunch earl, who has no wish to marry yet? Or will it be the future duke who has a reputation with the ladies? Or the kind, country doctor instead?

Even Ginny can't figure out who she is supposed to “fall in love with.” All she knows is that she needs to marry someone if she ever hopes to return to own body, in her own time.

A Lesson in Forgiveness Lesson Series Book 2 eBook Jennifer Connors

I had to review since I didn't see any other reviews that expressed my thoughts. First of all, great series with the concept of Ginny being the protagonist and traveling to different story lines and eras. Loved the first romance novel. HOWEVER, this book losses any romance half way through the book and your kept waiting for the happily ever after that, in my opinion, never came.

Spoiler for who hasn't red yet: prince charming decides to get revenge on Ginny for messing up his vocation- bachelor -plans by pretending to care about her in order to consummate a mirrage she cannot get out of. The next day he leaves without warning to precieve a year of traveling and screwing women left and right.

First of all, I don't see how it's a lesson to take a guy back who has just been f-ing the world and partying for a year because he decides to come back, as he can now be faithful to the woman he loves so very much- sarcasm...
Then this prick comes back actiong self-entitled to every thing he abandoned and that to what Ginny basically had to take over.
He goes as far to defend himself by claiming ginny wasn't alone since she had another love interest to keep her company for the year ...as if saying only he can go f the world while she waits like a patient good wife.- which she mostly did...
Bringing me to my other argument of Ginny feeling this notion of pride guilt that does not let her find any real happiness with anyone else during that year.

MOREOVER, after a long awaited blowout, there is a sence of resignment or what the stupid title says "forgiveness" where she proposes to 'start over'....clearly trying to suppress resentment and act all : happily, flowers, and courting..really!

Im pretty sure forgiveness for women of this century does not mean to let's forget you abandoned and cheated on me for a year and start over....
At the very least you let that d suffer for a year and see if he's truly committed and faithful.
Personally, you give your forgiveness and both go separate ways to try to live happy lives. - clearly he has already 'been there, done that!'

If this guy truly cared about his wife he would've check to see if he got her pregnant On their wedding night!!
Ginny could've died and this 'charming' would have come back to a grave when he was done f-ing women!!

ANYWAYS, after they finally do it, and Ginny feels she's fadeing from that world, her tone is iether very bitter or very emotionless and you get the sense of 'thank god' she's leaving this f-up so-called romance novel!!

Well this is just my opinion. Truth be told I couldn't stop reading the book...even though I ready to yanck off my hair towards the end!!
Hard to see it as a romance but good story.

A Lesson in Forgiveness Lesson Series Book 2 eBook Jennifer Connors Reviews

I read the first book in the series because it was free for my kindle. I gladly purchased this one. Reading the description, a modern girl gets thrown back in time to live the life of romance heroines, I thought the series would be hokey. It was anything but. It is a fun read and keeps the reader engaged. You really feel you get to know and care about these characters. I would gladly recommend this series to anyone.
This is the second book in the Lesson series. I recommend reading the first book before this one. The plot continues and it would be very confusing.

I loved this book! I almost want to read it again.
Great story and wonderful characters.

So very worth it!
I can't stop reading these books! I finished this one just a day after the first and enjoyed how the heroine handled her new life, how she learned and matured, and how the "hero" was never clear until towards the end. Now, be warned the hero is not actually that heroic and you may hate him at times but the end is satisfying and made me go online and order the 3rd installment right away.
The characters are complex and realistic. They are beautiful and flawed. What even more beautiful is every character grew and learned to love and forgive. I only feel sorry for the best friend. But I love him too.
This story is very different from Ginny's first adventure. Following the lines of a more harlequin romance Ginny is transported to a time with strict social rules. As a result she gets rushed into a marriage and her husband disappears shortly after the consumation. I loved following Ginny through the year (plus) that she had to deal on her own, watching her evolve as a character has been brilliant in just the first two novels.
Aside from needing to read all of the books in this series to get to the final ending, this was a great read! Please just purchase all of them in one go to save yourself the frustration of not having a real ending!
I have read many novels/books and never found an author so thoroughly delightful. Ms. Connor has me constantly laughing out loud with the many humorous situations and language of her main character, Ginny. Never knowing what she will say or do, keeps me on the edge of my seat. What a refreshingly honest author that can bring to life a charmingly realistic character. I cannot imagine anyone coming away without honestly good feelings after reading this series. At the age of 65, I am rarely impressed. This is an author I would love to meet! She just has to be somewhat like Ginny -refreshingly honest plus a great sense of humor!
